Forever21 Website Font
The website for Forever21, a popular clothing store generally for young women, is obviously conscious of how to reach their target audience. The font they use for most banners and links is contemporary and fun, appealing to their young, female audience. The typical Forever21 shopper is conscious of style and therefore appreciates the attention to "hip" fonts, that is to say that the fonts aren't usually seen on Microsoft Word and are new and fresh to the eye, much like good fashion. These fonts please the shopper's aesthetics and urge them to be similarly fashion-savvy in their wardrobe choices, preferably by purchasing clothing from the Forever21 website.

ReplyDeleteGreat post, I'm glad you went further than just listing what was on the site, you actually analyzed it's meaning. I think the font choice of that website is very purposeful, fun, energetic letters can make a huge difference in mood as you shop, and make you more conscious of the "savvy fashion choices" you were talking about. Excellent post.
ReplyDeleteyou were the only once who really effectively linked the style of the website to its purpose by commenting on how the fonts used were "new and fresh to the eye, much like good fashion." great post.
ReplyDeleteI definitley agree that the fonts pull in a specific audience. They are new and really stand out from other fonts. Great post.

ReplyDeleteI definitely agree. The font does play a huge role in the website, and the way you linked it made me realize it, the font almost describes the type of clothes they have without even reading the words. Great observations.
