texting?

Suddenly, out of no where, a song begins blaring from within a woman's handbag! The woman does not seemed alarmed; instead she simply removes a mysterious device from the bag and opens it up. Covered in buttons and lights, this object seems to have communicated her some sort of secret message because she begins laughing silently to herself. She begins typing on the various little keys so quickly and effortlessly that she seemes to be bewitched by a higher power, using her as a channel to quickly relay a message. Satisfied in the successful sending of her secret message she snaps the device shut and stashes it back in the bag- only for it to go off many, many more times! I wonder who she is communicating with, and why it is so important and secret that she cannot speak the message out loud.

  1. There is a serious problem with texting among young people. I have had blackberry thumb since I got to college. I don't feel the need to have long conversations with people, only relay short messages.

  2. Haha I really like this one... It really is a problem that we can no longer communicate like humans. I really like the line "...and why it is so important and secret that she cannot speak the message out loud."- it's so true. Whenever people around me are texting, I feel like they're talking about me, or telling secrets (maybe I'm just paranoid), but it's ridiculous!

  3. My mom always says that pretty soon kids won't even speak anymore, they'll just be born with a phone in their hand and the ability to text. The sad part is that I don't disagree with her, what's even more upsetting is that sometimes I feel myself becoming that kid. I think I might have to put my thumbs to rest for a while, I have a serious risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome.
